Mayor Vi Lyles and a new Charlotte City Council were sworn in on September 6, 2022. Four outgoing members: Mayor Pro Tem Julie Eiselt and Councilmembers Larken Egleston, Greg Phipps, and Matt Newton, were replaced with returning members: LaWana Slack-Mayfield and James Mitchell and first timers Dante Anderson and Marjorie Molina who will represent Districts 1 and 5, respectively.
