RHA is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for the fiduciary oversight and operation of the organization as well as the development of priorities, policies and positions of the organization. The Board of Directors is made up often individuals including the Executive Director of the GCAA, as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board.
On Aug. 9, 2021, the Charlotte City Council voted unanimously to amend its ordinances to include familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, pregnancy, and natural hairstyle as classes protected against discrimination.
